The US Federal Government distributes funding to Commerce and local service providers in support of homeless crisis response systems. This funding is made up of both competitive and formula-based grants. The Federal Programs Team works with local governments and nonprofits to combine this funding with evidence-based best practices in order to efficiently reduce the number of people living outside.
Our guiding principles:
- We will partner with people with lived experience of homelessness to identify person-centered strategies that promote long-term stability.
- We will take urgent and bold action to reduce homelessness.
- We will support interventions that take into account individual need, community context, and best practices.
