The Washington Statewide Reentry Council advocates for Washington state laws, investments, and attitudes that improve reentry outcomes, increase public safety and build systems that are more humane and restorative.
We disrupt the cycle of mass incarceration by transforming systems so that each individual is treated equitably and with dignity.
About the council
The Legislature created the Statewide Reentry Council in 2016 to improve public safety and outcomes for individuals reentering the community (43.380 RCW). The council is guided by Gov. Inslee’s Executive Order 24-03: Building Safe and Strong Communities Through Successful Reentry.
Our team values integrity, equality, justice, relationships, restoration, anti-racism, and respect and dignity.
Our commitment to Reentry 2030
The Statewide Reentry Council is excited to work in accordance with Executive Order 24-03 (Reentry 2030) to make Washington a reentry friendly state that supports, cares, & prepares individuals for success as they reenter the community after incarceration.
The Reentry Council is appreciative of their strong partners in the Reentry 2030 movement, including the Washington State Department of Corrections, the Council of State Governments and many State agencies. It is through these partnerships that the goals set out in the Reentry 2030 initiative will come to fruition.
