Coordinated Entry (CE) is a process that promotes system-wide coordination for a more effective and strategic response to homelessness. CE helps a crisis-response system transition from project-focused to person-focused. Through CE, systems can monitor an inventory of housing resources and appropriately prioritize households for available services. Implementation of CE also provides crisis response systems with comprehensive data for planning and resource allocation.
CE aims to guide households experiencing a housing crisis through the crisis response system by providing access to the most appropriate housing through a standardized assessment, prioritization, and referral process.
